Yeah! I’m the Winner of the fabulous Art Chix Postage set from Helga! Thank you so much to all of my friends, family and fans who voted for me last month in ArtChix Studio’s Eco Shape challenge. I’m super excited to use the sheets in my cards and ATcs and I hope to offer some ATCs as a giveaway soon for my Pinkdilla fans.

I just mailed off February’s ATc swap cards that I made for Collage Stuff’s Pink and Green swap. I have been really inspired by the collage stuff swaps and all of the lovely cards that I receive from the other artists and I’m excited to see what I will get for this 3 for 3 swap! Pink is one of my all time favorite things, just in case you didn’t know this, and with Valentine’s Day in February I had hearts and cupids and roses on the brain! For the cupid card I used 1/2 inch wire edge ribbon and just folded it on the edges and in the middle to make the roses effect for the trim. The Soar angel card has one of my favorite colors Juniper green ribbon from Close to My heart as an accent. All of the sweet collage images, vintage papers and ticket stubs are from collage stuff. I hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I enjoyed making them.

Claire Selby ~Sweethearts~ Artist Trading Card

Sweethearts! That’s the Artchix Studio theme for the February ATC Swap and what fun it was creating little pieces of love! This time around I chose a bright coral red,  pink and purple colorway, ( my atcs are usually pretty bright). I love using vintage ribbons, trims and papers in my designs, some are bought, some have been swapped and some are from my mom and grandma. The funny thing is I still have tons more Valentine images, papers and craft supplies leftover even after all of the cards and atcs I made this month. Oh well, the more the merrier for next year! And, I’m not the only Selby in my house that worked on cards for February, here are a few cute cards from my daughter. She made each card unique and only one of each design. Hmmm…like mother like daughter.

This week has flown by with Valentine’s Day, sick kiddos, shopping with my sister, and having to get new tires on our truck, I’m just now able to post the rest of my handmade cards and cards for soldiers! I’ve had fun making custom cards too like the one of a kind 5×7 Princess crown card for my sister, they are so pretty to wear or display. Rubber Stamp Madness Spring 2011

Rubber Stamp Madness Spring 2011 magazine just came in and my “Alice and the March Hares” stamped and dye inked collage was featured on pg. 30! I got to share some of my inking technique for making the chalk and watercolor-like effects with the dye inks. I hope you can check it out. Also, take a peek at Helga’s Eco-shape Art Contest going on at her My Artistic Life blog. This chixie is so amazing and uber-talented, always coming up with fun and interesting ideas. I chose to make my gothic arch eco-shape into a Fairy Playhouse ornament and a vintage Valentine card with the eco-shape as an insert card.
