On the 12th Night of Christmas my True Love made for me…Paper Party Flowers to celebrate 2012! I saw some Paper Party Flower decorations from Martha Stewart years ago and decided to make my own interpretation of those. All it takes to make my flowers are-

1) 3 sheets of Anna Griffin 12″x12″ Scrapbooking paper, in Green and White

2) Pink Wire edge ribbon to connect them

3) scissors, tape runner and a hole punch

4) Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™

5) Ruler and bone folder to score

6) Velvet leaves, flowers and ornaments to trim with

Score lines on your paper and fold. Here are some measurements for Score Lines to get you going. Score at 2″ , 1  1/4″,  1 1/4″, 3″,  1 1/4″, 1 1/4″,  2″

Try them first on a scrap piece of 12″ paper before using your nice paper!

Use the Tape runner to secure the back flaps closed. This makes one Petal.

Score and fold in Half with the back flaps facing inward. This is your first Petal. 2 more to go!

Repeat these steps 2 more times until you have 3 folded petals all together. Now, using the hole punch make two holes side by side about an inch apart on the bottom of all 3 petals. Lay the petals on a flat surface with the ends that are hole punched facing inward. With the wire edged ribbon start to thread the ribbon through all three petals in the first row of holes, and then finish threading all 3 petals through the second row of holes. Pull the ribbon gently til the flower petals are all together and then tie a knot. Take your scissors and trim an arch shape on the edges of each petal, you can use a template, draw it on or just line up each edge to the previous one to make sure they are even. Gently fan out the edges of each flower petal.  To finish, glue your petals, flowers and ornaments on to decorate!

These look great printed on Transparency sheets in sepia tone! I printed mine on sheets found at Fry’s and Office Depot. Tulip® SuperBIG™ One-Step Tie-Dye Kit™ Onsies project

I found this adorable one of a kind onesie tie dye project on Tulips® I love to Create Blog today and can’t wait to try it out on some of our little white onseies! For this project all you need is the article of clothing, a Tulip® SuperBIG™ One-Step Tie-Dye Kit™, a rubber band and a plastic tablecloth, (or you could use a drop cloth or trash bag). I hope to do a turquoise and brown for one and a pink and tan for the other onesie I have. The Super Big kit contains all of the colors and can dye up to 24 shirts! Probably double that if you are just doing little onesies! Have fun. Peace ya’ll

Kard Krazy blog has a Tag Tuesday challenge every week and for this week the challenge is: Postcards. Enter any kind of paper craft utilizing postcards. For my entry, “Three Generations of Beach Beauty“, I was inspired by my mom and grandma who each collected and made cards throughout my life! One of the recurring themes to my art is the beach, we all grew up on Galveston Island so I used these things as the backdrop for my tag. The vintage postcard Beauty is one I collected in ’98, my mom collected the fibers, and my grandma collected the vintage paper I used.  My entry uses a pale peach and turquoise colorway of dye inks over vintage paper. Voila!  Inter-generational Art!

I was inspired to put together one of a kind quilted ATC Kits for Sale using some of the techniques I picked up, as well as the Amy Butler fabric, Halo threads and embellishment trims I purchased. We had fun at the Cloth Paper Scissors’ ATC Trading Post wall. I got to trade several of my collage cards with some great ladies there and we also got to meet another mother/ daughter team of artists, Judy Coates Perez and Nina Perez. Judy has a gorgeous tree skirt pattern available for free download on the Quilting Arts magazine site.
