I want to share another great project for using leftover paper scraps and ribbon scraps, just upcycle them into a pretty Tray! My Redo of the 7Gypsies Tray started by measuring out each opening & trimming the paper scraps to fit. Some of the papers I used are Creative Memories Shine, Figgy Pudding Stripe, Close to My Heart Stripe, and the brown glittered paper is Brun Antique News Shimmer.  I put a thin spot of Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™ to tack the papers in place and then rubbed on leftover scrapbooking Rub-on stickers. To finish my Tray I knotted the ribbon scraps to the handle!

For my photos I chose black and white, vivid color and sepia with yellow tint. I just used my Microsoft Picture Manager to remove most of the color for my sepia photo and then chose a more yellow Hue. You can also edit photos with Photoshop or Gimp just choose Sepia tint for the photo and then paint on an accent color, (You have to also choose a transparency of less than 50% or it looks too thick). Another way to Tint photos is with Scrapbooking Chalks and Dye inks, these you can just rub on with a q-tip! I’ve tinted photos all of these ways and it just depends which one you find more fun and easier to use!

Claire Selby Minnie Mouse crown

What Minnie Mouse fan wouldn’t want to feel like a princess? I glittered up a Minnie Mouse Crown just for a 1st birthday party but this would make all kids feel like royalty, from 1 to 100! I started out with the Disney Scrapbooking paper from Hot off the Press. I lightly glued the Minnie paper to cardstock. I then cut it out and glued the back of the crown closed. For the front of the crown I stitched a flower from green ribbon and crepe paper, topping the flower with a pink paper flower and a rhinestone heart. Minnie’s ears are cut from Creative Memories circle patterns and black paper that I topped with Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™ and chunky glitter. I like a sheer snow like effect over the black paper but you could also try a black glitter,( glitter usually ends up all over me and my kiddos, so I avoid dark glitters!). I glued the ears to the sides of the crown and hole punched under the ears to attach the chin strap. Disney party here I come!

It’s all about the Ruby Slippers! And the Glitter! I love that the double sided scrapbooking paper even had the words Magic Slippers on the right side. I was planning on putting Dorothy on the right hand side until I happened to see the words and then I knew it would work great on the left. Being a mom of 4 makes it hard to steal a few minutes in the day to make a blog post. I hope that you are able to see a lot of different types of artwork, cards and craft projects. I sure have a lot of those to finish making and posting too!  Here are some of the supplies I used to create my card with-

Claire Selby Silver and Purple Butterfly card

I made this card for My husband’s Cousin that was recently married. The colors for their wedding were silver and purple. I kept the card rather light and neutral with just the one purple butterfly as a pop of color. I used a 5.5″ square Paper Source card, an e.k. Decorative paper punch for the four medallions and hand cut the four butterflies. I sprayed the card with a light mist of black dye from my Tulip® Tie-Dye Fashion Kit™. The textured cover weight of the card is great for dye, as well as inking with pigment inks.

Yes, I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie World! For my 32nd Birthday this month I chose to go with the ” I Love Barbie” theme. I decorated with Red, Black, White and Hot pink. Even my 3 tiered Barbie doll cake is in the same colors, ( Don’t ask why My dolls have so many clothes!).

For my Upcycled Barbie Birthday Banner I repurposed and used-

3-Tiered Barbie doll Cake I used 1 small and 2 medium cake stands.

I was inspired to make my Girly Glam Blocks after going to FBFC’s W.O.W. which is on the first Wednesdays of the Spring and Fall months. I got my vinyl L-O-V-E letters and blocks from one of the W.o.W. days and then brought them home to embellish! I recycled some fabulous Silver and Cheetah wallpapers for 2 of my blocks. I also reused some Christmas glittered ribbon for the V block. To make my blocks first, I sanded the blocks and painted them around the tops, sides and edges. Once dry I glued the paper and wallpapers down using a foam paintbrush and Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™. Let dry again, I used vinyl letters, but you could also try Alphabet letter stickers or rub on scrapbooking letters. Lastly, I glued on my bow, rhinestones and Heidi Swapp accent piece. I also, cut out 2 glittered circles from my bow to incorporate onto the L block. Voila, pretty glamorous and girly!

I made this Jungle of Love Baby Shower banner for my Sister’s first baby shower. The color scheme was neutrals, jungle green and pale green. I was inspired after I found the Anna Griffin paper and the Cosmo Cricket Bright Eyes paper. Next, I hand cut out the baby onesies and then punched out the large circles with a circle punch. Here are some of the supplies I used-

1) Acid free cardboard and scrapbooking paper, I used an assortment of Creative Memories, Stampin’ Up, and what ever scraps I had on hand

2) Several Yards of vintage lace, satin ribbon, and pale aqua tulle ( I found most ribbons at my Michael’s store)

For Spring I love breaking out the pink! Ok, ok. That’s all year I’m breaking out the pink! But, for this card I used green and pink along with gold for a card that is bright and fresh just like the season. Here are some of my supplies I used for my Kiss-kiss card.

2) Acid Free Scrapbooking paper turned into a 5″ by 6″ card

3) Gold paper doily, Found in the baking aisle of most stores, you can also use vintage or paint a plain white one!

I love using Tacky glue because it only takes a small amount and it is great for painting on with a paint brush, dabbing on or scraping across paper with a flat edge of a plastic scraper, (like an old debit card) it starts to dry quickly.

6) Green staples and a green butterfly wing.

I was inspired to make a baby card after I bought the Close to My Heart green safety pins. So I put together Green, Yellow, Chocolate Brown, and Aqua Blue as the colorway for my card. CosmoCrickets Bright Eyes 12″ paper was perfect for the card as it is double sided, stripes on one side and feathers on the other. The sweet baby fairy is an Art Chix Fairy Post image and he sits cutely perched with tiny paper flowers around him. I glued each little piece with Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™. He’s finished off like a present with Aqua Blue tulle tied around the card!

This Fairy Thank you Cards is one of the few cards I have been able to finish recently. From the glittery Amy Butler paper to the Art Chix Winged Beauty in the corner, all the way to the Martha Stewart ribbon, everything is Pink and Pretty! I lightly glued everything with Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™ and finished the top of the card with the chipboard T. A big Fairy Thank you.
